She received her Bachelor of Technology (2011) and Master of Technology (2013) degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from Punjab Technical University, India. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Dr Fatima Gunning. The phenomenal growth in Internet traffic has motivated her to explore Tb/s superchannels for optical communications. The focus of her research is to develop spectrally-efficient communication technologies like Nyquist-WDM to enhance the transmission capacity of current optical networks. She is investigating the spectral shaping techniques which can reduce the complexity of current state-of-the-art of digital signal processing techniques (DSP) in Nyquist-WDM.
She also graduated with Post-graduate Certificate in Innovation, Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship (ICE) from UCC. Her other interests include public engagement and scientific outreach. She has been engaged in numerous outreach activities throughout her PhD as an active Smart Futures STEM volunteer.
