Raminder Singh

PhD Researcher

Raminder is currently a PhD student in the Biophotonics at Tyndall and APC Microbiome Ireland (APC). He is jointly supervised by Dr Silvia Melgar (APC) and Prof. Stefan Andersson-Engels (IPIC). He received his BSc and MSc (2016) in Biology from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Mohali, India and is a recipient of an INSPIRE fellowship (2011- 2016) from Department of Science and Technology, India. His master thesis focused on the role of Salmonella Typhimurium effector protein SpvD in host cell infection. A biologist by training, he is currently working on deep tissue bacterial imaging in vivo mouse model for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) using UpConverting NanoParticles (UPCNPs).
