Hadi Badri

Research Fellow

Hadi joined the Centre for Advanced Photonics and Process Analysis (CAPPA) as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) fellow under the SPARKLE fellowship programme in September 2022. He is currently working on integrated optical frequency comb generation on lithium niobate-on-insulator platform using micro-transfer-printing under the supervision of Dr. Liam O’Faolain. Optical frequency combs are broadband coherent light sources and optical rulers consisting of equidistant frequency lines with interesting applications such as precision spectroscopy, telecommunications, light detection and ranging, astronomy, and microwave photonics.

Before the MSCA fellowship, he had worked in the department of electrical engineering, IAU since 2008 as a lecturer. He received his PhD from IAU, Iran in 2020. During his PhD, he designed integrated waveguide devices such as waveguide crossings, bends, tapers, and couplers based on gradient-index (GRIN) lenses and transformation optics (TO). He received his M.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Iran, in 2006. During his master’s degree, he was working on multilayer optical filters. He received his B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from IAU, Iran, in 2004.
