As an undergraduate Julie studied Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at ENSEA, a french engineering school where she discovered many fields of science and engineering. French engineering schools allow students complete a double degree with foreign universities, therefore Julie completed her Electrical and Electronic Engineering Masters at UCC (2019/2020). Julie worked with Tyndall for her Masters thesis on Software Defined Networking (SDN) in the packet and the optical domain, she enjoyed it so much that she commenced her PhD working within the Photonic Systems group and UCC’s Computer Science department, her study will investigate new techniques to (re)configure, monitor and control optical devices via Software-Defined Networking interfaces.
