Kafil M. Razeeb

Principal Investigator

Kafil M. Razeeb received the B.Sc. (with honors) and M.Sc. degrees, both in Applied Physics and Electronics, from the University of Dhaka in 1997 and 1999, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from University of Limerick in 2003.In 2003, he joined NMRC (now Tyndall National Institute) as a Post-Doctoral Fellow. In 2005, he became a Research Scientist and in 2006 Staff Researcher within the Microelectronics Applications Integration group at Tyndall National Institute. He is currently based in Micro-Nano Systems Centre of Tyndall National Institute as a Senior Research Scientist leading the Advanced Energy Materials group. He is principal investigator and coordinator of several Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland and European Union funded projects. In his professional career, Dr. Razeeb has been successful in sourcing substantial (over € 6 Million) research funding from the EI, EU, SFI as well as corporate sector. His current research focuses on the development of novel nanostructured materials for energy generation/ scavenging and storage for powering Internet of Things (IoT), 3D integration, nano-sensors and catalytic properties of novel nano-materials.

Biography

Dr. Kafil M. Razeeb is a Senior Staff Researcher leading the Advanced Energy Materials Group where his research is focus in the development of materials for energy generation, storage and thermal management of photonics integrated circuits. Dr. Razeeb provides technical leadership within IPIC2 in the development of the micro-thermoelectric cooler on photonics platform applying a wide range of MEMS fabrication technique. He is principal investigator and coordinator of several Enterprise Ireland, Science Foundation Ireland and European Union funded H2020 projects. Dr. Razeeb is a member of The Electrochemical Society, Senior Member of IEEE and Chartered Physicist and Member of Institute of Physics.
