Liam Lewis

Researcher

Dr. Liam Lewis received his PhD in 2003 from the Tyndall National Institute (then NMRC). This work involved studying the characteristics of metal contacts to Gallium Nitride (GaN) based visible Light Emitting Diodes collaborating with the GaN growth group of Cambridge University in the UK. After a 1 year post-doctoral position in Tyndall, Dr Lewis took up a position in the Centre for Advanced Photonics & Process Analysis (CAPPA) at the Cork Institute of Technology in 2008. Dr Lewis’s work in CAPPA has been focused on industry-led applied research in Optics and Photonics. He is currently CAPPA center manager and acting head of the CAPPA group in CIT. The centre works primarily with industry and has a strong focus on business development via marketing and public relations.
