Marcos Troncoso Costas

PhD Researcher

Marcos joined the PhD program in Electronic Engineering with the Radio and Optical Communications Lab at Dublin City University, under the supervision of Prof. Liam Barry and Francisco Díaz. His current research field includes spectrally efficient modulation for optical communications through fiber and free space.

In 2017, Marcos completed his Bachelor Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering at the University of Vigo, Spain. In his Bachelor thesis, he developed a Matlab application for modeling electromagnetic waves on flat interfaces. In 2019, he completed his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Vigo.    Marcos received an award for the best cyber security related Master’s thesis from the Cátedra R en Ciberseguridade.

After finishing his thesis, his research focused on Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNGs) and Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs).
