Muhammad Hani Mazaheri

PhD Researcher

Muhammad Hani Mazaheri joined Tyndall in 2025 as a PhD researcher in the BioPhotonics Group working on project titled – Embedded Systems Hardware/Firmware Co-Design for Medical Devices.  Muhammad has explained – since BioPhotonics is an interdisciplinary field that bridges the gap between physics, biology, optics, and engineering, it offers opportunities to work on research that displays direct impact on the lives of human. For this reason I joined the BioPhotonics group at Tyndall National Institute which provides a platform for researchers to work in the state-of-the-art laboratories for cutting edge research in optical and biomedical applications. Leveraging my background in electronics and electrical engineering, I believe that my expertise in microcontroller systems, metamaterials, nanodevices, electromagnetics, and electronic devices will be highly relevant for developing advanced biomedical devices.

Muhammad received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electronics from Institute of Space Technology (IST) in Pakistan and a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Metamaterials and Nanodevices form Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) in Pakistan. From 2023 to 2024, he worked as Lab Supervisor for the Wave Propagation and Antennas Lab and the Microcontroller Systems Lab in GIKI.
