Ning Liu

Principal Investigator

Dr. Ning Liu received her B.S. degree in Physics from Peking University, China, in 1999 and a Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics from University of California at Irvine in 2005. Prior to joining the University of Limerick, Ireland as a lecturer in 2013, she worked as postdoctoral research fellow in UK, Canada, China, and Ireland. She has specialties in scanning probe microscopy and ultrafast spectroscopy and microscopy.
Her current research interests are in electrically pumped nanocrystal-based light emitting diodes, spin-orbit coupling of light, all aspects of nanophotonics and nanoplasmonics. Her research has been funded by Science Foundation Ireland, the Irish Research Council and the European Commission. She has published 56 journal articles, including publications in Nature nanotechnology, Nature chemistry, Nature Materials, Light:Science&Applications, Physical review letters, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, ACS Photonics etc.
