Focused on creating a photonics research centre that delivers research excellence, trains future research leaders and turns leading edge technology into economic impact. Responsible for the overall management of the IPIC & Tyndall Photonics Centre operations, including delivery of KPIs, industry engagement, technology commercialisation, outreach, finances, stakeholder management and reporting. Also co-ordinator of Sparkle, Training Europe’s Future Photonics Research Leaders, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Postdoctoral Fellowship programme. Patrick has over 20 years’ experience in R&D management and technology commercialisation with multinationals (Unilever, RWE), a spinout company (Regenesys Technology) and more recently at Tyndall National Institute/UCC across the sectors of ICT, Life Sciences and Energy.
